Update: 22/08/2024

Hello all. Firstly, I apologize for a little radio silence and the skipping of two Saturday blogs, so now that I have the time I'd like to update everyone on what's been going on with progress regarding my novel and my other creative endeavours.

Firstly, it's with great excitement to announce that I applied for an artistic grant from Creative New Zealand. Though I am still awaiting a response, if they accept, it will mean a maximum of $10,000 put towards editing and publishing of "The Starlight Symphony. Movement 1: The Kindling".

There has been agreement that the novel will be split into two separate volumes for the sake of cost efficiency. Fortunately the story is structured juuust the right way for volume one to end on the perfect cliffhanger!

Secondly, I am redoing the entire world map of Astralheim in the map software "Wonderdraft" which I strongly recommend. It's been very fun to use and with it, I can hope to create a clearer and more comprehensive vision of the world "The Starlight Symphony" takes place in.

Thirdly, a while back I gave out a little sneak peek of a short story I had been working on. "The Shape-Shifting Wizard of Mara Whetu". I have picked up this project again and aim to finish it soon to be released!

Will pump out more blogs soon, but I welcome any suggestions on what to talk about in future. I finished reading "Watership Down" and having grown up with the 1970's film, I'm glad to have finally read it and can't wait to share my thoughts on it!

That's all for now, but more to come soon.

Love to all.

Daniel.

Thank you for reading and have a beautiful day!
