Graduation
With the passing of yesterday, I have successfully graduated from Otago Polytechnic. Looking back, it was a long time coming, with my branch of graduates having our graduation held back two time. It was all in all, a satisfying experience to finally receive public recognition for all our achievements.
The sun was shining bright and the streets were warm, filled with every notable student and their respective families.
Bagpipes and drums came as textbook for Dunedin culture and history. We sat on our seats for what felt like ages but it was worth it in the end.
And honestly, I don’t feel too different.
It’s a significant step, granted, but i think it stands as a message of where our happiness needs to come from. I had already received my certificate a year ago, many things had changed for me and life could not be better for me right now. Happiness doesn’t stem from what or how you are rewarded or whether or not you are seen when it happens, but from ensuring the happiness of the one person that matters most, yourself.
And I think that’s the true graduation. If you can attain that, skies the limit.
Thank you for reading and have a beautiful day!
